For long term storage we have even had some of out tenants adapt their units in different ways to make it work for them. An example of how storage can be adapted on site is one of our tenants that wanted to use his unit as a work shop for his carpentry work, so with some adaptions done he changed the space to fit what he needs for his everyday work to be accessed from this site all in once place. To do this he incorporated a staircase that has been added in the back leading up to an office space, maximising the amount of room he now has for storage of his building materials in his downstairs of the unit, whilst still giving space for a little onsite office. It has also meant that it has cut down the hassle of having to do these bits of work on site and can focus within his own personal space to be able to produce the work he needs to do.
These adaptions have been done in multiple units of Oldbury and has maximised people using our yard for long term storage. Alongside this unit we have 2 more people using their units for their work in two very different trades. One of the units has been adapted and changed to create a gym down the site, which has proved very popular for the tenants clients as he can adapt more to flexible working hours with our 24/7 access, creating a big space for his gym to be able to have all the equipment needed for more specific needs.
Aswell, another tradesman on site is a joiner, his unit has been changed to have the similar set up to tenant 1 with a working unit, adapting to a workshop for his work needs and special equipment for his work so that it can be carried out on site. With all the work being in one place, onsite in a secure storage unit that is locked each night and under 24 hour surveillance has created a perfect work environment for this kind of work.
